Roneel Prakash is set to defend his title at the Vonu Pro-am tournament, taking place at Denarau tomorrow and continuing through Saturday over 36 holes. The prize offerings are significant, with professionals playing for $6,000 in cash while amateur participants will vie for attractive prizes. Amitesh Chandra, President of Golf Fiji, expressed excitement for the event, emphasizing its rich history and the importance of sponsorships like that from Paradise Beverage, which has supported the tournament for 25 years.
Tomasi Tuivuna, the current leader of the Fiji PGA order of merit, will also participate, showcasing his strong form alongside fellow professionals Zoheer Ahmad and Vikrant Chandra. In the ladies’ category, Tracey Salthouse and Amy Subam are considered frontrunners, while Praveer Chand is anticipated to lead in the men’s amateur division.
