The Ministry of Forests convened its inaugural Head of Divisional Meeting for 2025 on February 12, 2025, at the Takayawa Building headquarters in Suva. The meeting was presided over by Alitia Bainivalu MP, the Minister for Fisheries and Forests, along with senior management team members.
During the meeting, several critical issues were addressed, including a review of the Forest Act, regulations pertaining to mahogany, the management of government vehicle incidents and maintenance, as well as discussions on memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and budget utilization.
Minister Bainivalu underscored the significance of teamwork in achieving the Ministry’s objectives for the year. She stressed the necessity of dedication, efficiency, and innovative thinking among her team. “Let’s work smarter and diligently to achieve the outcomes we’ve set for the Ministry of Forests,” she stated, expressing gratitude for the team’s continuous commitment.
This meeting signals a renewed commitment to enhancing innovation and efficiency within the ministry’s forestry initiatives, aiming to better serve the environment and communities depending on these vital resources.
