The Fiji national team celebrated a hard-fought victory with a thrilling 6-5 win over the Solomon Islands during a penalty shootout at the OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup held in Honiara. After experiencing significant losses against Papua New Guinea and Tahiti in previous matches, Fiji demonstrated grit and determination in this pivotal game.

The match began with the Solomon Islands taking an early lead, but Rewa midfielder Tevita Waranivalu’s goal in the second half renewed Fiji’s hopes. The competition intensified, and with Waranivalu scoring again, the game concluded in a 2-2 deadlock at the end of regular time. In the penalty shootout, Waranivalu successfully converted Fiji’s first penalty, followed by successful attempts from Adriu Nabose, Steven Dean, and Frances Catarongo, securing their victory.
