Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai, the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF), has been honored with the prestigious French Order of Merit. This commendation is one of the highest accolades that France bestows, granted directly by the President of France.

Significantly, this marks the inaugural occasion that such an award has been conferred upon an RFMF member, establishing a historic precedent for the organization. Major General Kalouniwai conveyed his heartfelt gratitude towards the members of the RFMF for their unwavering dedication and commitment over the past two years, attributing his recognition to their collective efforts.

“I’m proud to wear this medal because of your individual dedication to duty and hard work, which enabled me to achieve this honor,” stated Maj. Gen. Kalouniwai. He emphasized that this award reflects the professionalism, dedication, and teamwork that are hallmarks of the RFMF’s mission and contributions.

This recognition not only highlights the exemplary service of the RFMF but also reinforces the spirit of collaboration and commitment within military ranks, fostering a sense of pride in their ongoing contributions to national and international efforts. As the RFMF continues to grow and adapt, awards like this inspire continued excellence and commitment to duty among its members.
