Another package containing illicit drugs was intercepted and confiscated at the Waimalika Post Office near Nadi Airport on May 16, 2025. The package arrived from India and was found to contain approximately one kilogram of methamphetamine. The recipient’s name listed on the package is associated with a resident in Wailoaloa.
This interception is believed to be the result of joint efforts between the Fiji Police and the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service, showcasing the ongoing collaboration between law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking effectively. Similar recent incidents have highlighted the rising trend of drug seizures in Nadi, emphasizing the region’s role as a node in international drug smuggling networks.
Earlier this year, multiple significant drug busts were reported, including a seizure of 14.814 kilograms of methamphetamine valued at approximately $7.4 million, underscoring the continuing battle against narcotics in Fiji.
