The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua has made a significant move by re-signing two vital forwards, Vilive Miramira and Mesake Vocevoce, until the end of the 2027 season. This commitment enhances the team’s forward pack, critical for building depth and continuity in the upcoming Super Rugby Pacific campaigns.

Vilive Miramira, a foundational player since the Drua’s entry into the competition in 2022, has played 36 matches and scored three tries. His versatility in both the middle and back row was showcased when he participated in the Flying Fijians squad at the 2023 Rugby World Cup. Mesake Vocevoce, a rising star at just 22 years old, has made an immediate impact since joining the Drua, with 24 appearances and earning the title of Pepsi Rookie of the Year in 2024. Notably, he recently scored his first Super Rugby try in a match against the Queensland Reds and has also represented Fiji at the international level with eight caps.

Fijian Drua General Manager Rugby Baden Stephenson praised the re-signings, emphasizing that the players’ athleticism and physicality align well with the demands of Super Rugby. Their contributions have been indispensable for the club’s growth and success.

Similar to the previous articles regarding the Drua’s squad development, the retention of skilled players like Miramira and Vocevoce, alongside strategic recruitment of new talents, signifies the club’s commitment to enhancing its competitive edge. This focus not only aims to elevate the team’s performance but also nurtures local talent, ensuring a promising future for Fijian rugby.

With these key players on board, the Fijian Drua looks poised for an exciting season ahead in Super Rugby Pacific, promising both growth and thrilling rugby for fans and supporters alike. The infusion of emerging talent and the experience of established players create a hopeful outlook as the season approaches.
