Fiji Weather Update: Rain and Showers Expected Across Eastern Regions This Weekend

Weather Update

Welcome to your evening weather adventure, as we unravel the tropical treasure map of Fiji! On this fine Saturday night, May 24, 2025, at 7:30 PM, our weather oracle from the National Weather Forecasting Centre has revealed a bit of a drizzly tale swirling around the eastern parts of Fiji that promises to keep the rain dance alive.

Tonight, expect periodic rain showering down like it’s auditioning for a splashy Broadway musical, particularly over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri, Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Kadavu, and their smaller, lesser-known cousins, Lau and Lomaiviti. But don’t fret, dear friends! This waterworks show is expected to ease up to mere showers by tomorrow afternoon, allowing for some gentle splashes instead of a full-on deluge.

As we gaze further afield, the Yasawa group and Sigatoka are in for a grand cloudy performance with the possibility of some dramatic rain moments. The rest of Vanua Levu might also be treated to the occasional cloud-burst, while the rest of you enjoying fine weather will only tune in for isolated sprinkle spectacles in the afternoon or evening.

Winds are feeling a bit feisty, so expect a moderate to fresh breeze from the southeast to keep you on your toes. And for our mariners, the seas are moderately rough – just enough to provide a bit of excitement, so hold onto your hats!

Looking ahead to Monday, Mother Nature isn’t throwing in the towel just yet. More sporadic showers are set to make an appearance over the same eastern regions, but don’t worry, fine weather is still on the cards for other areas, except for those pesky afternoon and evening showers. And don’t forget to pull out your cooler jammies as nights will be chiller than a polar bear in a snowstorm.

Now, breaking it down further:

For Navua / Suva / Nausori, expect those rain dances to continue with the added bonus of more showers lightening up tomorrow.

For those lucky souls in Sigatoka/Coral Coast, it will be a cloudy rollercoaster journey with the potential for some hefty downpours. However, Monday is looking just fine, even if the weather throws in a couple of surprise afternoon or evening sprinkles.

If you’re in Nadi / Lautoka / Ba, prepare for a cloudy curtain with showers making special requests for the afternoon or evening. But Monday brings good vibes with mainly fine weather.

Tavua/Rakiraki will see the skies pouring out their hearts with occasional rain, ultimately dimming down to showers. Expect a similar fine outlook for Monday, with conditions ping-ponging between sunshine and slight shower surprises.

Natadradave/Korovou is in for the occasional rain shower party, but this too shall ease off. Keep an eye out for Monday’s shower schedule.

Yasawa/Mamanuca group keeps the clouds busy with a chance of showers, followed by a drier workday on Monday.

Labasa is also joining the cloudy club, with showers bursting onto the scene. But fear not, clear skies are on the horizon come Monday.

Savusavu will be serenading with occasional rain, again easing up by tomorrow but not on Monday.

For Lau/Lomaiviti and Kadavu, the rain is marking its territory, but clouded over horizons and showers are still in the cards.

Lastly, Rotuma is cozying up under a blanket of clouds, with showers willing to meet you in the near future as well.

So, grab your umbrellas, put on those cute rain boots, and gear up for a weather adventure that keeps giving – whether it’s rain, showers, or breezy episodes!
