Weather Update
Brought to you by the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi, at 5:30 AM on this fine Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
Situation: There’s a cheeky trough of low pressure lounging around the western and eastern parts of the beautiful Fiji group. Don’t worry though, it’s packing its bags and moving west later today, so it should be on its way soon. In the meantime, we’ve got a delightful north to northeast wind keeping things interesting.
Forecast until midnight: Expect some cloudy periods with a sprinkle of showers over the western and eastern regions of Viti Levu (think Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba, just to name a few) along with our friends in Lau & Lomaiviti group, Kadavu, and nearby smaller islands. Elsewhere, there might be the odd isolated afternoon or evening shower and a thunderstorm that thinks it’s all that – just be aware of those localized heavy falls, as they can lead to some flash flooding in low-lying areas. Windy conditions are here too, with moderate northeasterly breezes that might just ruffle your hair a bit, and seas will be moderate to rough – hold onto your hats!
Looking ahead to Thursday: More cloudy patches with a side of showers along the interior and eastern parts of the larger islands. For those in Serua-Namosi, Navua, and others in that region, keep your umbrellas handy! Elsewhere, we’ll be mainly fine with just isolated afternoon or evening showers – or maybe that thunderstorm wants to pay us another visit (with heavy downpours, naturally).
