Situation: Well folks, it seems like the winds are feeling a bit flirty from the southeast, blowing across our beautiful Fiji islands. There’s a slow-moving trough of low pressure over the southern region that’s planning a visit, bringing along clouds and showers. So grab your raincoat, because the southern and eastern parts of the country might want to keep an umbrella handy today! Oh, and guess what? Another mischievous trough is gearing up to join the party from the north later today.
Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:
Get ready for a splash in the south! Expect occasional showers with some dramatic isolated thunderstorms—perfect for those who enjoy a bit of nature’s fireworks over Kadavu, the little islands nearby, and the southern Lau group. Meanwhile, the Lomaiviti and remaining Lau groups can expect cloudy periods with a sprinkle or two along with some thunderous excitement.
Over in Sigatoka-Coral Coast-Korolevu, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, and more areas, clouds will be gossiping about brief showers. And don’t worry, the rest of Fiji should enjoy some sunshine, except for a few potential sneaky afternoon or evening showers popping up uninvited.
As the day rolls on, the northern division will see some occasional showers. And for those of you in Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, keep your eyes peeled for afternoon thunderstorms that might just throw a heavy party!
Winds will be moderate from the southeast, and seas are ready to rock gently along with the weather changes.
Outlook for Tuesday:
More showers on the way! Occasional showers with isolated thunderstorms are expected over Northern Bua, Macuata, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and the Yasawa group. Partly cloudy skies are also in the forecast, with brief showers for the rest of the country, but don’t let that cloud your mood! Heavy downpours might show up unannounced, especially in the low-lying flood-prone areas, so stay vigilant!
