Weather Update
Greetings from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi, where the weather is about as unpredictable as a cat on a hot tin roof! Here’s what you can expect until midnight tomorrow for our beautiful Fiji islands:
In most places, fine weather will reign supreme. However, if you’re in Navua, Suva, Nausori, Korovou, Rakiraki, or the Serua-Namosi area, don’t be too surprised if a few brief showers decide to crash your outdoor plans. The same goes for Naitasiri, Tailevu, Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Kadavu, and those charming smaller islands, not to mention Lau and the Lomaiviti group – they’ve got showers on the radar, too!
For the adventurous, the outlying areas will bask in mainly fine weather. The nights will get cool, perfect for cozying up with a hot drink or trying to remember where you left your jacket.
Tonight, expect moderate southeasterly winds that might pick up a bit, just enough to mess up your perfectly styled hair. Seas will be moderate to rough—definitely not the ideal time for your first attempt at paddleboarding!
Looking ahead to Friday: More of the same! Gorgeous weather will greet you, with the same pesky brief showers ready to spoil the fun in the usual spots. The cool nights will return, and while the east to southeast winds will be moderate to fresh, you can just about hear the waves whispering tales of the sea.
Specific locations:
– For Navua, Suva, and Nausori: Fine weather with a sprinkling of brief showers. Remember to pack a light jacket for those cooler nights!
– Sigatoka and Coral Coast: Mainly fine, perfect for sunbathing and not being bothered by sudden rain showers. Overnight, the temperature will drop enough for a light blanket.
– Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba: Mainly fine, just like your friend who brings chips to every gathering. Cool nights anticipated!
– Tavua and Rakiraki: Also enjoying mainly fine weather, with cool nights for your evening strolls.
– Natadradave and Korovou: Brief showers may make an appearance, but overall, enjoy the fine weather!
– Yasawa and Mamanuca group: Mainly fine, cool evenings should make for romantic sunsets.
– Labasa: Mainly fine, nothing to fuss about!
– Savusavu: Some brief showers to keep things interesting, but overall, fine weather should prevail.
– Lau and Lomaiviti: Braving some brief showers while enjoying the finer cloudy days.
– Kadavu: Expect brief showers, but the weather will mostly be on its best behavior.
– Rotuma: Heads up! A strong wind warning is in place. Tomorrow you’ll have some clouds and occasional showers, so secure your beach umbrellas!
So grab your hats, your shades, and maybe even a raincoat (just in case), and enjoy the delightful mix of sun and showers that Fiji has to offer!
