The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) is alerting customers in certain areas typically affected by high turbidity at the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant (WTP) to be prepared for potential interruptions to their water supply. Recent heavy rains are expected to impact the quality of water in source streams, complicating the water treatment process. Consequently, this could lead to reduced water production at the Tamavua WTP.

The areas likely to experience these disruptions include:

– **Namadi Heights**: Mika Drue Place and Pathik Crescent.
– **Bayview Heights**: Mead Road, as well as Volavola Road, Evetts Place, Top Shop Road, Sawau Road, Yohann Place, Vuibau Place, Sam Lal Road, Paul Sloan Street, and Joyce Perks Street.
– **Sakoca Areas**: Elevated regions along Lakha Singh Road, encompassing Sakoca Road, Wrong Turn, Delaiveiruka Place, Raikiwai Road, and Nagatugatu Road.
– **Tacirua**: Elevated areas along Tacirua Road, including Raibevu Road, Tacirua Heights, Raisuluwaki Road, Nakoivalu Road, and Dokanaisuva Road.
– **Tamavua**: Coverage extends from MH Superfresh and Upper Mead Road to Princes Road from Twomey Hospital to Loa Street Junction, which also includes Tamavua Koro, Niranji, Devoji, Upper Ragg Avenue, and several other localities.
– **Dokanainisuva**: This includes Princes Road from the junction of Savutalele to Khalsa Road, covering areas such as Jeremiah College and Savutalele Settlement Road.
– **Coloisuva**: Along Princes Road from Joes Farm to Sawani Service Station, and includes several connecting roads and local posts.
– **Lami Area**: High areas of Delanivesi and Lami Village Road, encompassing Rokodrawe Road, Nakurukuru Village Access Road, and other local roads.

WAF sincerely regrets any inconvenience this situation may cause and appreciates the understanding of customers as they prioritize the safety and health of the water supply.

In an effort to reduce the impact of these disruptions, WAF advises residents to:

– Store enough water for essential household needs without delay.
– Minimize non-essential water use during this period.
– Keep stored water clean and covered.
