This event, hosted by the National Hockey Centre in North Harbour over the Easter weekend, marks a significant milestone as it will be Fiji’s inaugural participation in this international competition.

Both teams come into the tournament with strong momentum, having recently claimed victories in the Pacific Cup and the Intercontinental Cup at the Oceania Pacific Cup held in December 2024. Notable players such as Lala Ravatu, Diyankar Kumar, Akosita Adigoneca, Zander Frazzer, and Kirk Corrie are set to represent Fiji, bringing a wealth of experience and skill, contributing to a confident and dynamic squad.

In addition to showcasing their athletic talent, the tournament serves as a celebration of cultural heritage and community unity. It will provide a platform for the players to demonstrate their identities and the vibrant stories that form the rich tapestry of Pacific culture.

The women’s roster includes players like Abbi Stewart, Ateca Fatufago, and goalie Becky Kelly, while the men’s team features talents such as Aiden Fraser and Darren Sawaki. The composition of both teams reflects a blend of experience and fresh talent, creating a strong representation for Fiji in this competitive arena.

This participation not only elevates Fiji’s hockey profile internationally but also serves as an inspiration for future generations to engage with the sport. The sense of community and shared heritage surrounding the tournament is expected to resonate deeply, fostering unity and pride among the Fijian teams.

As anticipation builds for this exciting event, both teams are ready to make a memorable debut, demonstrating the strength of Fijian hockey and the resilience of its athletes on the world stage.
