Organizations in Fiji are participating in an important anti-bribery workshop aimed at enhancing ethics and accountability within their operations. This initiative coincided with a training session attended by staff from the Suva City Council, held this week at the Civic Centre in Suva.
The workshop focused on reinforcing personal ethics and combating corruption, a critical issue for organizations across the country. Led by Banuve Wainimala, Principal Corruption Prevention Officer of the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC), the session highlighted the significance of maintaining ethical values in everyday business practices. With corruption being a prevalent concern, discussions centered on practical knowledge that could empower employees to make more transparent and accountable decisions in their work.
Rabia Mohammed, a Training Officer at SCC, expressed appreciation for the valuable insights provided by FICAC officers, emphasizing how the training equips SCC employees with the understanding necessary to recognize and resist corruption within their roles.
This workshop is part of broader ongoing efforts by FICAC to enhance integrity within the public and private sectors. Previous similar sessions, including those held at Vinod Patel And Company, have underscored the importance of understanding corruption risks and promoting effective preventative measures. FICAC continues to work with various organizations to foster a culture of integrity and accountability, making significant strides in combating corruption in Fiji.
