The Office of the Attorney-General will lead the Fiji Human Rights Taskforce, which is aimed at coordinating, advising, and promoting consistent collaboration among State institutions to help Fiji meet its international human rights commitments. This decision follows Cabinet approval of the Taskforce.

The Fiji Human Rights Taskforce (FHRTF) will oversee the efficient coordination of Fiji’s interactions with international human rights entities, including United Nations Human Rights Treaty Bodies, the Universal Periodic Review, and the Special Procedures of the Human Rights Council, while also monitoring the execution of their recommendations.
