The Attorney-General’s Office will lead the Fiji Human Rights Taskforce, which is tasked with coordinating, advising, and promoting ongoing collaboration among state institutions to ensure Fiji meets its international human rights commitments. This initiative comes after the Cabinet’s approval of the Taskforce.
The Fiji Human Rights Taskforce will manage the coordination of Fiji’s interactions with international human rights bodies, including United Nations Human Rights Treaty Mechanisms, the Universal Periodic Review, and Special Procedures of the Human Rights Council. It will also oversee the implementation of the results from these engagements.
