The Commissioner of the Fiji Police Force, Rusiate Tudravu, has reached out to the Gone Turaga na Tui Bua, Buli Navakasiga, his vanua, and the family of late police constable Peniasi Waqawai Racagi, expressing profound sorrow and seeking forgiveness following the officer’s untimely death.

At a gathering in Naviqiri Village, Bua, attended by Commissioner Tudravu, permanent secretary for the Ministry of Policing and Communications Berenado Daveta, and other members of the disciplined forces, a somber tribute was paid to PC Racagi. His life was tragically cut short in the line of duty while he selflessly worked to protect his community.

Commissioner Tudravu emphasized that the loss of PC Racagi resonates deeply, not just within his family and the Fiji Police Force, but across the entire nation that he served honorably. He praised the officer’s unwavering bravery and dedication, underscoring that PC Racagi’s commitment to his oath of protection would forever be remembered.

PC Racagi was laid to rest in his home village in Bua on Saturday, leaving behind a legacy of determination and service that he embodied throughout his life. The community mourns his loss while celebrating the courage and dedication he demonstrated during his service. His commitment serves as an inspiring reminder of the sacrifices made by those in law enforcement to ensure public safety.
