Ms. Rokobua Naiyaga was officially sworn in this morning as the new Chair of the Higher Education Commission Fiji (HECF) in a ceremony led by the Minister for Education, Hon. Aseri Radrodro. Her appointment marks a seamless transition aimed at ensuring continuous governance and oversight for the Commission.

Minister Radrodro congratulated Ms. Naiyaga and emphasized the urgency of her appointment to maintain the Commission’s critical responsibilities. He reiterated the Government’s dedication to enhancing the delivery of education, particularly focusing on the growth and improvement of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. This sector has been experiencing significant support, evidenced by an increase in scholarships and funding aimed to bolster its development.

The Minister urged the Commission to enhance its monitoring and quality assurance efforts to uphold the standards of Fiji’s tertiary education. He expressed confidence that under Ms. Naiyaga’s leadership, the quality, integrity, and global competitiveness of higher education in Fiji will be significantly advanced.
