Fiji appoints new Blue Economy Coordinator to advance sustainable ocean management

BLUE Prosperity Fiji (BPF), a collaborative effort between the Fijian Government and the US-based Waitt Institute aimed at promoting sustainable ocean management, has announced the appointment of Josaia Vosataki Kaulotukiyacata as its new Blue Economy Coordinator.

Mr. Kaulotukiyacata brings over ten years of experience in Fiji’s development sector, showcasing a robust background in grassroots project planning, policy analysis, and multi-sector coordination. Throughout his career, he has held various key positions within the Office of the Prime Minister, where he contributed significantly to national development planning and policy formulation at the Cabinet level.

His extensive expertise spans project oversight, sector performance evaluations, and the management of development partner programs, where he has enhanced compliance and reporting processes to ensure effective program delivery. The organization emphasized that his experience includes crucial areas such as infrastructure governance, project monitoring, policy research, budgeting, and strategic reporting, all of which enable evidence-based decision-making aligned with national priorities.
