Fiji Link will go cashless at three domestic hubs from Monday, September 1, as part of a shift toward faster, safer, and more convenient travel. Starting next week, all transactions at Nadi, Nausori, and Labasa airports—covering ticket purchases, excess baggage, and other services—must be paid with approved methods: debit or credit cards, M-PAiSA mobile payments, or local purchase orders for eligible customers. Cash will no longer be accepted at these locations.

The move aims to streamline the airport experience by speeding up transactions and expanding digital payment options. Fiji Link says going cashless reduces the risks and delays associated with handling physical money and supports Fiji’s broader push toward digital payments and smarter travel. A Fiji Airways spokesperson noted that while cash was previously accepted, the company is now embracing a cashless system to deliver greater convenience and security. The shift also ensures domestic travellers enjoy the same level of ease and efficiency as international travelers.

Travelers are reminded that check-in times remain important. It’s advisable to arrive early and have an accepted payment method ready if required, as part of a smooth process at the three airports.

What travellers should know
– Eligible payments: debit/credit cards, M-PAiSA, and approved local purchase orders for eligible customers.
– Airports affected: Nadi, Nausori, and Labasa.
– Purpose: faster, safer, and more convenient transactions with reduced cash handling.
– Tip: arrive early and confirm your payment method ahead of check-in to avoid delays.

Summary
Fiji Link’s cashless rollout at Nadi, Nausori, and Labasa airports marks another step in Fiji’s digital payments push, promising quicker, more secure airport transactions for domestic travelers and parity with international travel experiences.

Additional note
This aligns with broader moves toward digital payments across Fiji’s transport and public services, reinforcing the country’s commitment to modern, convenient financial solutions for residents and visitors alike.
