Fiji Airways Fiji men’s 7s coach Osea Kolinisau emphasizes the team’s disciplined approach as they gear up for the Perth 7s tournament this weekend. Following their recent performance in Singapore, where valuable lessons were learned, the focus now shifts to their initial pool match against Argentina.

Kolinisau voiced the importance of not looking too far ahead, as distractions could hinder their performance against a formidable Argentinian team. “We have Argentina first, then Spain. When we face South Africa, we’ve learned from last week that most of the tries came from kicks. Our defense is solid, and we’ll make adjustments as necessary,” he stated.

The coach reinforced the priority of taking the tournament one match at a time. “Right now we want to focus on one game at a time. We have a very good Argentinian side up first, and then we’ll focus on Spain, and finally South Africa,” Kolinisau said.

Addressing minor injury concerns that arose during the Singapore tournament, Kolinisau reassured fans that the management and medical staff are optimistic about the players’ readiness for competition. He noted issues like Talacolo’s shoulder knock and Teba’s contusion, the latter causing him to miss the final match against New Zealand as a precaution.

The Fiji men’s 7s team will kick off their Perth 7s campaign with a match against Argentina at 4:20 pm, followed by a game against Spain at 7:36 pm, and concluding their pool matches against South Africa at 10:52 pm. Fans can watch Fiji’s games live on FBC TV, showcasing the excitement and anticipation surrounding the team’s journey in the tournament. With a strong focus and determination, the Fiji team aims to make a significant impact in Perth.
