FIJI Airways Fijian 7s coach Osea Kolinisau has praised the exceptional work ethic of his star players as they prepare for the upcoming leg in Perth. Kolinisau particularly singled out playmaker Vuiviawa for his impressive dedication during training, which has translated into strong performances on the field.

“Vuiviawa is someone who works really hard in training, and you can see that pay off when he plays,” Kolinisau remarked. He also acknowledged the successful debuts of players Nacani Boginisoko and Douglas Daveta during the recent Singapore tournament, expressing pride in their contributions to the team’s success.

Kolinisau emphasized the importance of teamwork, noting that while Vuiviawa shines individually, the support from his teammates plays a crucial role in his effectiveness on the field. “Hats off to the boys around him as well; it is a team sport. Most of the boys put Vuiviawa into space, and he works his magic,” he added.

Looking ahead, Kolinisau is optimistic about the new players’ potential to continue developing and making significant contributions in the future. He expressed excitement about their debut win in Singapore, hoping for similar success in Perth.

As the team gears up for their matches in the Perth 7s, Kolinisau emphasized the importance of maintaining a winning mindset. “I know our boys will be tough this weekend in Perth, but this week is all about getting their mindset right and ensuring they’re physically prepared,” he said.

The Perth 7s tournament begins tomorrow, with Fiji placed in Pool A alongside Argentina, Spain, and South Africa. Their opening match against Argentina is scheduled for 4:20 pm, followed by games against Spain at 7:36 pm and South Africa at 10:52 pm. With a strong team spirit and promising performances, Fiji looks to continue its momentum in the tournament.
