The Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, recently addressed the ancillary staff of Nasinu Secondary School (NSS), urging them to take ownership of their roles in fostering a supportive educational environment. During an induction ceremony themed “Together, Scaling New Heights,” he emphasized the vital impact staff have on character and nation-building, reminding them of their essential contributions to creating a safe and nurturing learning atmosphere in one of Fiji’s largest secondary schools.

This dedicated session focused on professional development, with guidance on workplace ethics, civil service conduct, budgeting, and service excellence. Mr. Radrodro highlighted the importance of teamwork, stating that every member of the school community plays a critical role in a child’s success. He said, “Take ownership of your roles. It contributes to a safe and supportive learning environment,” reinforcing the Ministry’s mission to ensure every child thrives academically and emotionally.

This message aligns with previous statements made by the Minister in different contexts, where he has similarly called for collaborative efforts among parents, educators, and local leaders to enhance educational outcomes. Notably, in earlier ceremonies held throughout February, Radrodro consistently underscored the importance of parental engagement in children’s education, recognizing that family support is a crucial factor in student success.

Such initiatives reflect a hopeful perspective for the future of Fiji’s education system. By fostering partnership and commitment from all stakeholders, there is strong potential to create an environment where every child can thrive, supported by a dedicated community aiming for collective progress.

In essence, this focus on professional growth and community involvement presents an optimistic vision for the growth of the educational landscape in Fiji, illustrating that every individual’s contributions matter and can lead to meaningful improvements in students’ academic journeys.
