Adi Fika Seruitanoa embarked on a transformative journey in 2018, marking the beginning of her impactful role in women’s rugby in Fiji. Initially a schoolteacher with no rugby background, she rose to become one of only four women in the nation to hold a prestigious World Rugby Level 3 coaching qualification.
Her coaching career took root at Nausori Primary School, where she recognized a significant lack of opportunities for young girls in the sport. Through her dedication, she not only filled that gap but also became a leading figure, guiding the Naitasiri Under-20 women’s team and nurturing talent from rural communities.
Seruitanoa’s influence has only grown, as she now steps into a pivotal role as the head coach of the Naitasiri Women’s senior team for the upcoming season. This appointment highlights a historical moment in Fijian sports, as she joins a select group of female coaches leading teams at this level.
