Drug Bust: Trio Arrested in Shocking New Town Raid!

Illustration of Three arrested in separate drug raids

Three men are now in police custody following a raid that uncovered illegal drugs. The operation took place on Sunday afternoon when police, alongside the Fiji Dog Detector Unit (FDDU), targeted a residence located at Tamole Settlement in New Town.

During the raid, a 56-year-old unemployed man and a 23-year-old car wash attendant cooperated with authorities by handing over 117 sachets of dried leaves, wrapped in aluminum foil, which are believed to be marijuana. In a separate incident on Monday, a 53-year-old casual worker from the Newtown Settlement was apprehended after police executed a search warrant at his home, where he also surrendered a portion of dried leaves thought to be marijuana.

This incident underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat drug-related activities in the community. Public cooperation in these matters is crucial, and instances of individuals willingly surrendering illicit substances reflect a growing awareness about the importance of addressing drug issues within society. There is hope that such actions will foster a safer environment for all residents.
