Cigarette Prices Set to Spike: What You Need to Know

Spread the love

Starting Monday, the prices of five cigarette brands in Fiji are set to increase due to rising manufacturing costs, as announced by Sam Dormor, General Manager of British American Tobacco Fiji. Notably, four cigarette brands will see no price changes, including Benson & Hedges Filter 10’s, Filter 20’s, Smooth 20’s, and Pall Mall Suki Blend 10’s.

The price adjustments include a 10-cent increase for Benson & Hedges Ice Burst 10’s, bringing the cost to $10.80. Pall Mall Filter 10’s will also see a price hike of 50 cents, moving from $7.50 to $8.00. Pall Mall Menthol 10’s will now be priced at $8.60. Additionally, both Benson & Hedges Ice Burst 20’s and Super Cool Burst 20’s will be available at a new price of $21.40.

Similar to recent increases seen in other sectors like fuel and gas, these changes reflect broader trends in production costs and the economic landscape in Fiji. Recognizing the impact of inflation on consumer goods can be daunting; however, consumers may benefit from evaluating their purchasing habits and seeking alternatives within the market.

In summary, while cigarette prices are set to rise, many consumers will face similar challenges across various products, encouraging an opportunity to adapt and explore alternatives. The situation highlights the ongoing economic pressures but also the resilience and adaptability of consumers in response to market changes.
