Charity Bowls Raise $5k For Cancer Patient

Charity Bowls Tournament Scores Big for Cancer Fundraiser!

The AAA-ACE Friends Club held a successful Charity Bowls event last Sunday at the Nadi Sports and Social Club, bringing together 24 teams despite humid conditions. Participants enjoyed a special lovo lunch sponsored by Long Run Fiji, which energized them to raise an impressive total of $5,400 for cancer patient Sheila Bennion.

In a thrilling Cup final, national bowls representative Rajinesh Raju and Hillside Rentals owner Shivan Padiyachi triumphed over fellow national representative Kushal Pillay and partner Satya Nadan. The Plate title was claimed by top contestant Munesh Prasad, alongside Nadi Sports and Social Club manager Shamal Kumar. Former national snooker champion Soma Padiyachi and Filipe Delai secured the Bowls title with relative ease.

Each of the 48 players received a prize, marking the tournament as a joyful and successful community affair. Organiser Raymond Singh expressed gratitude to the dedicated AAA-ACE Friends Club members for their efforts in raising funds, emphasizing the importance of charity work. He noted the vital role of the NSSC and tournament controllers Sanjeet Sen, Rajnesh Raju, and David Aitcheson in ensuring the event ran smoothly.

Adi Litia Benau, representing the Bennion family, extended heartfelt thanks to all sponsors and participants for their contributions, highlighting the community’s support for those in need.

This event not only provided a platform for local talent in bowls but also showcased the power of community and philanthropy coming together for a worthy cause.
