In their inaugural match of the OFC Pro League, Extra Supermarket Bula FC faced a setback as they were denied a victory by a late equalizer from Vanuatu United, ending the game at a 2-2 draw. Despite this outcome, captain Roy Krishna expressed pride in his team’s determination and fighting spirit displayed throughout the match.

Bula FC held a narrow lead of 2-1 until the dying moments of the game, only to concede a dramatic equalizer just as the final whistle was about to blow. Krishna acknowledged that while the team could have better managed the closing minutes, he commended their effort and commitment throughout the match. He noted that the pressure and excitement of their first professional appearance may have affected their performance during the critical final minutes.

“It wasn’t that good, but it was the end of the game, last minute, we could have managed a bit better, but that’s football. We’ll learn from it,” Krishna stated. He pointed out the importance of gaining experience from this match, highlighting the need to avoid similar mistakes in the future, especially with the team’s experienced goalkeeper, Didier.

Looking ahead, Bula FC is set to focus on their next challenge against South Island United, scheduled for Tuesday at North Harbour Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand. The team remains hopeful about applying lessons learned from this match to improve their performance in upcoming games.
