The Bluewater Boxing promotion, set to take place in February next year, has officially announced that veteran boxer Joseph Kwadjo will compete against Robin Hazelman in the main event. This confirmation was provided by promoter Samir Khan during a recent interview with SUNsports.

Khan elaborated that the February event is just one of four boxing programs planned for the upcoming year. The fight is scheduled to occur at the Vodafone Arena in Suva, with a launch event slated for 1 PM on Friday at the Holiday Inn in Suva.

In addition to Kwadjo and Hazelman, the card will feature several other notable boxers, including Alifereti Kauyaca, Paulo Ratumaikoro, and Ratu Rakuro Daunivavana, along with Mohammed Ali and Jese Ravudi.

Khan emphasized their commitment to adhering to established rules and regulations, noting that their previous events this year have successfully included necessary safety measures such as ambulance services, medical personnel, and drug testing. However, it was highlighted that boxers participating in these matches are not insured, which is a significant consideration given the sport’s inherent risks. As a precaution, all boxers will be required to present medical certificates to ensure their health is monitored closely.

Khan also stressed the importance of maintaining the integrity of the sport by instituting strict registration procedures for boxing club managers and coaches. Without proper certification, individuals will not be allowed to represent boxers.

This upcoming event illustrates a proactive approach to fostering local talent and ensuring safety within the sport, which is vital for the athletes participating. As boxing continues to gain popularity, initiatives like these can help build a solid foundation for future competitions while empowering local fighters.

Summary: The Bluewater Boxing promotion will host a main event featuring Joseph Kwadjo vs. Robin Hazelman in February 2024, along with several other matches. Promoter Samir Khan reaffirmed their commitment to safety regulations and proper registration for boxing representatives, ensuring a competitive yet secure environment for the fighters.
