ASPEN Medical is aiming to secure Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation for Ba Hospital by October, which would position it as the first hospital in Fiji and the Pacific region to achieve this esteemed recognition. CEO Gavin Whiteside announced this ambitious target during a recent interview, emphasizing that attaining the JCI Accreditation is the top priority for the Ba Hospital team.

Whiteside also spoke about the organization’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, highlighting their focus on engaging with the community after a period of internal improvements at Ba Hospital. As part of their community outreach efforts, ASPEN Medical has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ba Rugby to provide medical support for the 2025 rugby season, which will involve 36 teams. He expressed excitement not only about the immediate medical support during games but also about future corporate social initiatives tailored to community needs.

Additionally, ASPEN Medical is continuing its philanthropy through a Christmas tree giving program, where staff and community members donate gifts to vulnerable children in the region, reinforcing the importance of joy during the holiday season.

This drive towards accreditation and community involvement, combined with recent efforts to enhance healthcare services, showcases ASPEN Medical’s commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare to residents and improving life in the Western Division of Fiji.
