Nirav Kumar has earned the title of dux at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Primary School this year, showcasing outstanding academic achievement. The 13-year-old not only secured the second highest mark in the Fiji Eighth Year Examination but also achieved the highest score in the Central Division.
Kumar attributes his success to hard work, determination, and the unwavering support from his friends, family, and teachers. “Achieving the second highest mark is a significant milestone, reflecting the dedication and encouragement I received from many,” he shared.
Upon receiving the dux award, Kumar expressed his desire to motivate his peers to strive for success in all aspects of their lives, not solely in academics. He commended fellow awardees for overcoming challenges and serving as role models for others.
His journey towards excellence began when a teacher inspired him by setting a goal to win the prestigious dux trophy. This motivation fueled his ambition to excel, although it wasn’t always easy. Kumar recalled moments of self-doubt and struggles with his grades, feeling unworthy at times. However, support from his parents and teachers helped him regain his confidence, teaching him that setbacks could foster resilience and learning.
Kumar’s heartfelt gratitude went to his parents, who have always been his steadfast supporters. “Your sacrifices have paid off, and it’s a proud moment for us,” his father, Shivangali Kumar, expressed.
Kumar’s story serves as an inspiring reminder of the power of perseverance and the importance of support in achieving one’s dreams. His achievements highlight the idea that success is not solely about the end result but also about the journey, including challenges faced and lessons learned along the way.
Overall, this narrative exemplifies hope and determination, encouraging students everywhere to aim high and never lose sight of their goals, irrespective of the obstacles they may encounter.
