Three young men have been charged in relation to an alleged assault and robbery that took place earlier this week in Caubati. The suspects, all in their twenties and residents of Cunningham, are scheduled to appear in the Nasinu Magistrates Court today.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on June 9 when the suspects hired a taxi and requested to be taken to Caubati. Upon arrival, they allegedly assaulted the driver, stealing his mobile phone and cash. Following the incident, a specialized task team from the Southern Division launched an investigation, leading to the arrest of the three suspects, each charged with one count of aggravated robbery. During the investigation, authorities were able to recover the victim’s mobile phone.
