Incomplete application forms have been highlighted as a significant factor contributing to the delays in back-to-school assistance payments, according to Education Minister Aseri Radrodro. Parents and guardians were allotted a seven-week window to accurately complete and submit their forms at schools, with the deadline set for December 12th of the previous year.
Minister Radrodro addressed concerns from parents who are still awaiting the assistance. He noted that several application forms were submitted without necessary information, including proper details regarding the students, family numbers, names, and mobile phone numbers. The completed forms are directed to the Ministry of Finance for processing.
Minister Radrodro explained the process, stating, “Once we fill those forms, we send them to the Ministry of Finance. If the Ministry of Finance identifies any incomplete or incorrect details, those forms are returned to the Ministry of Education for further validation.” He emphasized that the final payment responsibility lies with the Ministry of Finance, indicating that the Ministry of Education solely facilitates the application submission.
Finance Minister Esrom Immanuel reassured that any pending payments are anticipated to be finalized by the end of February, bringing hope to many families awaiting this vital financial support for their children’s education. The collaborative efforts between the two ministries underline a commitment to resolving these issues efficiently and ensuring that assistance reaches those in need.
