Two schools from the west have advanced to the under-18 semi-finals of the Vodafone Super Deans tournament. Cuvu College and Ratu Navula College impressed their supporters with strong performances in Suva.
Cuvu College secured a surprising 23-22 victory over eastern powerhouse Ratu Kadavulevu School. Meanwhile, Ratu Navula mounted a strong comeback in the second half to defeat Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School 16-10, ending their impressive run in the competition.
Nasinu Secondary School was the first to reach the semi-finals after narrowly defeating Tailevu North College 17-13. In the last quarter-final, defending champions Queen Victoria School had a tough match against Marist Brothers High School. Queen Victoria School started strong, scoring 13 points, while Marist managed six points through the efforts of Saiasi Fuli, but ultimately ran out of time to overcome the deficit.
As a result, the semi-final matchups will see Nasinu facing Cuvu College and Queen Victoria School taking on Ratu Navula College. The semi-finals are scheduled to take place in Suva next Saturday.
