Anticipation is building among the Wallabies ahead of their upcoming Test match against the Fiji Water Flying Fijians later this year. Australian players Tom Wright, David Feliuai, and Noah Lolesio recently shared their excitement about the fixture in an interview with Australian media outlet AAP.

Tom Wright, who plays for the Brumbies, noted that this matchup would be a thrilling encounter characterized by flair and intensity. “What better way than to go up against a nation like Fiji that can dazzle you on the field while also running straight through your defense?” Wright expressed.

Noah Lolesio echoed these sentiments, sharing his enthusiasm for the chance to play in front of what he anticipates to be a lively Fijian audience. “I’m really looking forward to it, and I’ve heard the Fijian crowd is absolutely mad. So it should be awesome,” Lolesio remarked.

Centre David Feliuai, who represents the Melbourne Rebels, reflected on the journey leading up to this match. He recalled a previous conversation with his agent about the potential of this meeting: “I thought, ‘that would be cool if it happened’ but didn’t really think it would. It’s been a crazy journey to be honest,” Feliuai shared.

For the Wallabies, this match also serves as an opportunity for redemption, as it will be their first encounter with Fiji since the latter secured a 22-15 victory over Australia at the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France.

The impending match promises not only to be a competitive contest but also a showcase of rugby’s spirit, highlighting the vibrant cultures of both nations. With the excitement building, fans can look forward to an unforgettable display of athleticism and national pride in July.
