The team triumphed over the Lami Steelers with a decisive score of 42-14 during round three of the competition, showcasing their newfound synergy and determination at Bidesi Park.
Team manager Sosiceni Tora credited this breakthrough win to serious adjustments in training, a renewed focus on fitness, and an enhanced team mindset. “We had to go back to the drawing board. Something wasn’t right after those first two games,” Tora mentioned, emphasizing the importance of their collective effort and discipline.
An essential aspect of their turnaround has been the strengthening of team unity, achieved through shared meals and spiritual bonding. Tora noted, “We shared the Word of God with the boys. We told them, if Jesus is anchoring our ship, we will be steady.” This symbolic gesture has created a deeper connection among the players, propelling them to play not just for themselves but for their families and supporters.
