It was an exhilarating day of volleyball at Vodafone Arena as teams competed with energy and determination in the Hot Bread Kitchen Easter Volleyball Competition. The women’s matches showcased impressive performances as Suva Blue secured a decisive victory against Mid Central 1, winning in straight sets 25-17 and 25-14. In Pool 2, Kinoya Green demonstrated their skill by beating Nasinu Blue with scores of 25-9 and 25-20, thanks to smart plays and effective serving.
The competition continued with Raiwai 1 dominating Mid Central 1 in Pool 3, finishing with scores of 25-12 and 25-18. Suva White also showcased their strength in Pool 4 by overcoming Nausori 3, winning 25-13 and 25-20. In Pool 5, Nausori 1 took down Mid Central 1, earning victories in both sets with a score of 25-20. The last pool match witnessed Nasinu Red achieve a commanding victory over Kinoya Gold, winning 25-10 and 25-7 in Pool 6.
In the men’s division, Kinoya Gold emerged victorious over Raiwai 1 in Pool 1, taking the first set decisively with a score of 25-11, before holding on to win the second set 26-24. In Pool 2, Nakasi 1 showcased their strength against Nasinu Blue, winning with scores of 23-13 and 25-19. Suva Blue demonstrated top form by dominating Nausori 3 in Pool 3, winning 25-10 and 25-9. Pool 4 saw Nasinu Red triumph over Nasinu 2 with a score of 25-17 and 25-19. Pool 5 delivered a thrilling encounter as Nakasi 2 won against Mid-Central, with the first set going to Nakasi 2 26-24; Mid-Central fought back to win the second set 25-14, but Nakasi 2 secured the final set 15-13. Lastly, Nausori 1 also secured a win over Suva White in Pool 6.
As the excitement continues, teams will strive for a place in the finals, ensuring that tomorrow’s matches promise to further showcase the skill and competitive spirit of the players.
