Two local companies, Vodafone Fiji and Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited, have launched a joint initiative to advocate for a cleaner and healthier Fiji. The collaboration, named ‘I Recycle,’ aims to enhance environmental sustainability and promote effective waste management practices across the nation.
Rajnesh Prasad, acting CEO of Vodafone Fiji, emphasized the company’s dedication to diminishing its environmental impact during the program’s launch held at their headquarters in Suva. He stated, “Through this partnership, we aim to create a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Fiji, starting with our very own head office in Tamavua.”
Mr. Prasad added that partnering with Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited not only strengthens local waste management efforts but also encourages a sense of accountability and community involvement among both employees and customers.
Amitesh Deo, founder of the Pacific Recycling Foundation, remarked that this initiative paves the way for greater business participation in sustainable waste management, highlighting how collective action can lead to substantial improvements for the environment and society.
