Vivian Koster, who previously held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Netball Fiji, has recently been elected as the new Oceania Regional Director of the World Netball Board for a four-year term. This marks a significant step in her career, as she brings over two decades of experience in sports administration to her new role. Koster holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Policy and Administration and a Master of Arts from the University of the South Pacific.

During her tenure as the inaugural CEO of Netball Fiji from 2021 to December 2024, Koster demonstrated her leadership and dedication to the sport. She navigated the organization through transitional challenges, such as major event postponements, and initiated several strategic moves to enhance the future of netball in Fiji. Her election as the Oceania Regional Director represents a period of hopeful transition and rejuvenation within the region, following the passing of previous director Wainikiti Bogidrau earlier this year.

Koster expressed gratitude for the trust placed in her by Oceania Netball and acknowledged the legacy of Bogidrau, who was both a colleague and a friend. She stated her commitment to ensuring that the voices of all members, particularly those from challenging environments, are heard. Koster’s appointment is expected to bring constructive developments to netball in Oceania, fostering a stronger presence for the sport on the global stage.

This new chapter for Koster and Oceania Netball is ushering in a promising era of collaboration and growth for the sport. Her strategic vision aims to elevate the regional interests, enhance player platforms, and build a fortified netball community that respects and honors the legacy of leaders like Bogidrau. The netball community remains optimistic about the advancements her leadership is poised to introduce.
