Suva FC will be missing key player Joe Moses for the rest of the season after he was sent back to Vanuatu for overstaying his visa in Fiji. FBC Sports confirmed that the Fiji Immigration Department issued Moses a notice to depart on June 20, and as a result, he faces a travel ban preventing his return to Fiji for one year.
Moses was a significant contributor to Suva FC, having been their top scorer in the 2025 BiC Fiji FACT tournament, where he showcased his talent by scoring four goals in three matches. His standout performances made a substantial impact on the team, and his absence will be felt as Suva prepares for the Battle of the Giants tournament.
Suva FC President Nitin Singh remains optimistic, stating that there are other capable strikers on the roster who can step in to fill the void left by Moses. The team is set to kick off their campaign against Nadi on Friday, followed by matches against Navua and Rewa over the weekend.
This situation underscores the challenges teams often face with player availability due to visa issues, but it also opens up opportunities for other players to prove themselves. The spirit within the team is expected to remain strong as they push forward in the tournament.
