Village Boys captain Seru Logayau expresses no regrets about the team’s decision to break away from the Dominion Brothers last year, declaring it a transformative move that has provided players in his grade with ample opportunities to showcase their skills on the field. Currently competing in the 49th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s, the team has made a strong impression, consistently reaching the finals or winning in all tournaments they have entered.

Logayau is determined to lead the Village Boys to success at Fiji’s largest 7s tournament, emphasizing the talent and teamwork of his squad. “We are here to claim the U21 title this year,” he asserted, showcasing the team’s aspirations. Born in Somosomo Taveuni, Logayau is also motivated by his personal dream of playing in France’s Top 14 competition, viewing the tournament as a significant step toward that goal.

As the event unfolds at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, spectators can watch the matches live on VITI+, showcasing a thrilling atmosphere filled with hope and ambition. The Village Boys are poised not only to compete but also to make their mark in the broader realm of rugby sevens, highlighting the significance of youth participation in the sport.

With a series of successful performances leading up to the Marist 7s, including triumphs at previous tournaments, the Village Boys exemplify the resilience and competitive spirit of young athletes in Fiji. Their journey is a testament to the importance of teamwork and dedication in achieving success, inspiring future generations of rugby players.
