Around 100 individuals from diverse backgrounds gathered in Suva to participate in the Viksit Bharat Run 2025, a demonstration of unity and a commitment to service aimed at fostering a brighter future. Organized by the High Commission of India in Fiji in collaboration with MY Bharat, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of India, the event took place on September 28, 2025.
This initiative was not confined to Fiji; it unfolded simultaneously across more than 150 international locations, marking a global celebration of service, fitness, and sustainability. The event in Suva saw enthusiastic participation from the Indian diaspora, local communities, students, professionals, and friends of India.
The chief guest, Sashi Kiran, the Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, alongside guest of honour Ram Madhav from the India Foundation, graced the occasion with their presence. Held as part of Seva Pakhwada (September 17 – October 2), the run highlighted India’s transformative achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, technology, education, and sustainability, all under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The local community’s participation in Suva reaffirmed their commitment to this vision of a developed India.
Under the theme “Run to Serve the Nation,” participants braved inclement weather for a 5-kilometer community run, turning this event into a powerful testament to collective spirit. Far beyond a fitness activity, it celebrated the ideals of Seva Bhav (spirit of service) and echoed Prime Minister Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
