Authorities are investigating a significant drug bust that took place in Vatia, Tavua, according to sources close to the matter. Reports indicate that the drugs were found packed in over 100 sacks, leading to the arrest of four foreign nationals believed to be from Ecuador, as well as two local suspects connected to the incident.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the confiscated substances may be either methamphetamine or cocaine. It is believed that the consignment arrived at the Vatia wharf prior to the arrests, which occurred while the suspects were allegedly transporting the sacks in a vehicle.

The Fiji Times has reached out to the Fiji Police Force for additional comments regarding the ongoing investigation. As this situation develops, further updates are anticipated as authorities continue their work to address the serious issue of drug trafficking in the region. The swift action taken by law enforcement reflects their commitment to curbing illegal activities and ensuring community safety.
