In a significant early morning operation, authorities arrested four South American nationals and two local individuals during a drug raid in Vatia waters. The Commissioner of Police, Rusiate Tudravu, reported that the raid resulted in the seizure of over 100 bags containing parcels believed to be cocaine. The operation was executed by officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), the Serious Organised Crime and Intelligence Department (SOCID), and the Western Division Taskforce, highlighting a strong inter-agency collaboration.

Commissioner Tudravu emphasized that the successful raid was made possible through the joint efforts of local and international law enforcement agencies. As investigations continue, the authorities aim to unravel further details regarding the drug trafficking operation and hold those responsible accountable.

This proactive action against drug trafficking serves as a reminder of the ongoing commitment to tackling organized crime and ensuring community safety through collaborative efforts.
