The University has announced that after a four-day strike, all staff members returned to their duties as of yesterday.

A joint statement from the Association of the University of the South Pacific Staff (AUSPS) and the University of the South Pacific Staff Union (USPSU) was issued on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, indicating that all striking staff were instructed by their unions to resume work starting Thursday, October 24, 2024.

However, the unions have declared that they will continue to keep an eye on the situation regarding their demands for a fair and transparent investigation into Vice Chancellor and President Professor Pal Ahluwalia.

Should circumstances require, the unions are prepared to initiate strike action again on short notice. Their strike mandate will remain in effect until February 14, 2025.
