The University has announced that after a four-day strike, all staff members resumed their duties yesterday.

In a joint statement released by the Association of the University of the South Pacific Staff (AUSPS) and the University of the South Pacific Staff Union (USPSU) on October 23, 2024, members who had been on strike were requested to return to work starting October 24, 2024.

However, the unions indicated that they would continue to monitor the situation regarding their call for a fair and transparent investigation into Vice Chancellor and President Professor Pal Ahluwalia.

The unions also emphasized that if necessary, they may initiate another strike on short notice. Their strike mandate remains in effect until February 14, 2025.
