The Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Ifereimi Vasu, has called for the prompt appointment of 55 vacant traditional leadership positions in Macuata Province. Addressing the Macuata Provincial Council meeting held in Sasa Village, Mr. Vasu highlighted that while 88 percent of the traditional titles are currently filled, a concerning 12 percent remain unoccupied.

He emphasized that these vacancies could detract from effective leadership and impede the region’s progress. “It is crucial that we fill these vacant positions to ensure the continued development and unity of our tribes and districts,” said Mr. Vasu.
