Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka made a notable visit to former parliamentarian Salote Radrodro at her home in Namulomulo, Nabouwalu, Bua, yesterday. This visit was particularly significant as it was the first time Mr. Rabuka had been to her residence following her release from prison in September.
During this unexpected visit, Mr. Rabuka took the opportunity to learn more about the copra industry and its operations. He was in the area to tour key sites associated with the China Aid Vanua Levu Road Development Project when he decided to stop by Ms. Radrodro’s home.
Ms. Radrodro’s son, Alipate Radrodro, expressed gratitude toward the Prime Minister for his visit, noting that they had met just a few days prior to New Year. He conveyed their hopes for a safe New Year and a prosperous 2025. The family was pleasantly surprised by the visit, especially coming after a church service. Ms. Radrodro wished the Prime Minister and the Coalition Government well in the coming year.
This meeting highlights the importance of community engagement and connection between leaders and citizens, showcasing a positive step toward rebuilding relationships and support.
Overall, this visit appears to symbolize a fresh start for Ms. Radrodro and an opportunity for collaboration on the integration of local industries, such as copra, into broader government initiatives. It sets a hopeful tone for the new year, underlining the importance of unity and progress in the community.
