Lami High School’s under-19 rugby team is setting the stage as underdogs in the Vodafone Deans semi-finals, with a crucial match against Ratu Navula College scheduled for tomorrow. Team manager Adi Lina Motea expressed her pride in the school’s journey, noting their impressive progress from a less recognized rugby school to strong contenders in the competition.

Motea highlighted the challenges her team faced in building a competitive unit from the ground up. After a significant victory over Ratu Kadavulevu School in the quarter-finals, the team’s confidence and cohesiveness have notably improved.

She emphasized the team’s resilience, stating, “The team’s journey through the Deans competition was a test of perseverance and faith.” Motea underscored the importance of prayers and self-belief in overcoming obstacles, thanking the ongoing support from the principal and the school’s administration.

Despite the anticipated tough contest with Ratu Navula College, Motea believes her team is well-prepared physically, mentally, and spiritually for the challenge ahead. She encouraged former students and supporters to rally behind the team as they strive to make history.

The semi-final match will take place at Bidesi Park in Suva at 11:40 AM.
