Two women are set to appear in Lautoka Magistrates Court today following their charges related to separate burglary and theft incidents reported in Nadi and Lautoka last week.
Authorities announced that the suspects were apprehended after a routine patrol in the main business area of Lautoka. Officers observed one of the women displaying suspicious behavior, prompting them to stop and question her. This inquiry led to crucial information connecting her to the ongoing investigations into the reported crimes.
Following this lead, police subsequently located and arrested the second woman involved in the cases. During the operation, several items believed to be stolen were confiscated.
Both women now face joint charges of one count of burglary and one count of theft. This incident highlights the effectiveness of community policing and the vigilance of law enforcement in maintaining public safety and addressing criminal activity.
