A tribunal consisting of three members will convene this week to investigate Christopher Pryde, the suspended Director of Public Prosecutions, regarding allegations of misbehavior. The tribunal, chaired by Justice Anare Tuilevuka, includes Justices Samuela Qica and Chaitanya Lakshman as its members.

In correspondence sent last week to Justice Tuilevuka, Pryde expressed his inability to attend the tribunal’s hearing. He raised concerns about the fairness of the proceedings, claiming that he has been denied the resources necessary to mount a proper defense.

The hearings are scheduled to commence at 9 a.m.

This situation underscores the importance of due process and the right to a fair hearing, which are fundamental principles in any legal system. It is hoped that the tribunal’s investigation will be thorough and equitable, ensuring that all parties involved have the opportunity to present their case and contribute to the pursuit of justice.
